Kokeshi Dolls

The Kokeshi Doll series was inspired by a little kokeshi doll I bought on a trip with friends to Japan over 16 years ago. I have wanted to paint her ever since. It seems now is her time and she has inspired a little following of kokeshi dolls. Their names come from music, writings and cultures that inspire me. I hope they bring you joy.

Each piece is created with charcoal and ink on wood panel, 20.3cm x 25.4cm, 3.8cm deep profile, varnished, unframed
